Description

Definition
GEOALT_NP1996_2016 reports the ecological region in Nepal where the respondent was interviewed, using units with consistent boundaries across samples.

Two other geographic integrated variables for Nepal also provide spatially consistent units over time. GEO_NP1996_2011 combines development regions with ecological regions up through the 2011 Nepalese sample; GEO_NP1996_2016 identifies five consistent development regions. Each Nepalese sample also has its own sample-specific geography variable.

An integrated GIS map (in shapefile format) for Nepal, using the units and boundaries in GEOALT_NP1996_2016, can be downloaded here [URL omitted from DDI.].
