Definition
VACDPTHB1DAY_NP reports the day of the month (according to Vikram Samvat, the official calendar of Nepal) that children received their first DPT-HepB vaccination, which vaccinates against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and hepatitis B. This information is only available for children born in the 5 years before the survey, whose first DPT-HepB vaccination date was recorded on a card shown to the interviewer. VACDPTHB1DAY_NP is only available for the Nepali samples.
The complementary variables VACDPTHB1MO_NP and VACDPTHB1YR_NP report the month and the year of the first DPT-HepB vaccination according to Vikram Samvat, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.
According to the DHS Recode Manuals, the vaccination date may be coded as "Inconsistent" if the reported date is inconsistent with the date of birth, the date of interview, or the dates of other vaccinations.
To identify all young children who received the first DPT-HepB vaccination, including those identified through the mother's report rather than a dated vaccination card, see VACDPTHB1.
