Definition
VACOPV1YR_NP reports the year (according to Vikram Samvat, the official calendar in Nepal) that children received their first dose of the oral polio vaccination. This information is only available for children born in the 3 to 5 years before the survey, whose first dose of the oral polio vaccination date was recorded on a card shown to the interviewer. VACOPV1YR_NP is only available for the Nepali samples.
The complementary variables VACOPV1DAY_NP and VACOPV1MO_NP report the day of the month and the month of the first oral polio vaccination according to Vikram Samvat, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.
According to the DHS Recode Manuals, the vaccination date may be coded as "Inconsistent" if the reported date is inconsistent with the date of birth, the date of interview, or the dates of other vaccinations.
To identify all young children who received their first dose of the oral polio vaccination, including those identified through the mother's report rather than a dated vaccination card, see VACOPV1 (H4).
