Definition
For women who are not currently using a contraceptive method, FPNONNP11 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported some other NGO as a source of family planning. The meaning of "other" must be interpreted relative to the specific categories included in a particular sample. This response category is country-specific to Nepal.
Some samples in the "FPNON" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FPNONNP11 is combined with other NGOs in the 2001, 2006, and 2011 Nepal surveys:
In the 2001 Nepal survey, FPNONNP11 is combined with FPNONNP6 (Family Planning Association of Nepal), FPNONNP7 (Marie Stopes International), FPNONNP8 (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), and FPNONNP9 Nepal Red Cross) in FPNONNGO (all NGOs).
In the 2006 and 2011 Nepal surveys, FPNONNP11 is combined with FPNONNP6 (Family Planning Association of Nepal), FPNONNP7 (Marie Stopes International), FPNONNP8 (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), FPNONNP9 (Nepal Red Cross), and FPNONNP10 (United Mission to Nepal) in FPNONNGO (all NGOs).
IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FPNONNP11 are encouraged to reviewed FPNONNGO for a more comprehensive response category.
