Definition
For women who had symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection in the past 12 months, STIADNP11 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported seeking advice or treatment from the United Mission to Nepal (UMN), a non-governmental organization (NGO). This response category is country-specific to Nepal.
Some samples in the "STIAD" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
STIADNP11 is combined with other NGOs in the 2006 and 2011 Nepal surveys.
In the 2006 Nepal survey, STIADNP11 is combined with STIADNP7 (FPAN), STIADNP8 (ADMA), STIADNP9 (INF), STIADNP10 (Nepal Red Cross), and STIADNP14 (other NGOs) in STIADNGO (all NGOs).
In the 2011 Nepal survey, STIADNP11 is combined with STIADNP7 (FPAN), STIADNP8 (ADMA), STIADNP9 (INF), STIADNP10 (Nepal Red Cross), STIADNP12 (ADRA), and STIADNP14 (other NGOs) in STIADNGO (all NGOs).
IPUMS-DHS users interested in using STIADNP11 are encouraged to review STIADNGO for a more comprehensive response category.
