Definition
VACPNEUM1DAY_NP reports the day of the month that children received their first pneumococcal vaccination, according to Vikram Samvat, the official calendar in Nepal. This information is only available for children born in the 3 to 5 years before the survey, whose first pneumococcal vaccination date was recorded on a card shown to the interviewer. VACPNEUM1DAY_NP is only available for the Nepali samples.
The complementary variables VACPNEUM1MO_NP and VACPNEUM1YR_NP report the month and the year of the first pneumococcal vaccination according to Vikram Samvat, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.
According to the DHS Recode Manuals, the vaccination date may be coded as "Inconsistent" if the reported date is inconsistent with the date of birth, the date of interview, or the dates of other vaccinations.
To identify all young children who received the first pneumococcal vaccination, including those identified through the mother's report rather than a dated vaccination card, see VACPNEUM1 (H54).
