    Abstract
    The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). Between 24 October and 27 November 2021 FAO launched a face-to-face household survey. About 3,840 households were planned and 3,685 (96%) of households responded to the survey across the 14 administrative districts (admin 2 level) according to the 2015 population and housing census from 340 enumeration areas.     Sampling Procedure

    F2F data collection in Sierra Leone was conducted between 24th October to 27th November, 2021 using Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) by trained enumerators. 320 Enumeration Areas (EAs) were selected across the 14 districts (considering the old administrative boundary of 2015 Population and housing census). With this in mind, twenty (20) EAs were selected per district, with the exception of Bombali and Koinadugu that had 40 EAs each. Twelve (12) household were selected per EA to make a total of 3,840 households to be targetted. This means that each district had a quota of 240 households. At the end of the data collection, data was received for 3,685 (96%).

    Access conditions

    Micro datasets disseminated by FAO shall only be allowed for research and statistical purposes. Any user which requests access working for a commercial company will not be granted access to any micro dataset regardless of their specified purpose. Users requesting access to any datasets must agree to the following minimal conditions:

    • The micro dataset will only be used for statistical and/or research purposes;
    • Any results derived from the micro dataset will be used solely for reporting aggregated information, and not for any specific individual entities or data subjects;
    • The users shall not take any action with the purpose of identifying any individual entity (i.e. person, household, enterprise, etc.) in the micro dataset(s). If such a disclosure is made inadvertently, no use will be made of the information, and it will be reported immediately to FAO;
    • The micro dataset cannot be re-disseminated by users or shared with anyone other than the individuals that are granted access to the micro dataset by FAO.
