Question 19 - Have you given birth to a child(ren)?
(For women aged 15 and above)
A mark is written down that corresponds to the one of the mentioned variant of response to women aged 15 and above (both those who are married (registered or unregistered) and are not married).
If yes is marked, then
a. the number of children were born you should indicate the total number of born children (excluding stillbirths), regardless of whether all children are alive at present or not and whether they are in this household with this woman or live separately. At that adopted children as well as husband's children from a previous marriage are not included in the number of children to whom birth was given by this woman.
b. how many of them are alive you should indicate the number of alive children at the time of population census. If at the time of population census all children born by a woman are not alive, you should write down 0 in point b.
Answers in points a and b are written down in a specially outlined boxes in figures (eg 1, 2, 3 .. 10, etc.).
If a woman has not given birth to a child no is marked and in points a and b you should write down 0.
To persons aged under 15 the answers to these questions are usually not filled. If only a woman gave birth to children, you should write down the number of children born by the woman and indicate how many of them are alive.
