Description

Definition
Like MAR1STCMCMN (MV509), MAR1STCMCMN_AF reports the century month code (CMC) for the date of the man's first marriage or cohabitation. However, this variable is country-specific to Afghanistan, as the data are recorded using the Solar Hijri calendar. For most other countries, the CMC data for the date of the woman's first marriage/cohabitation are recorded using the Gregorian calendar. On average, there is a 621 or 622 year gap between the Solar Hijri calendar and the Gregorian calendar.

For detailed information about the interpretation and calculation of CMC statistics on the date of first marriage or cohabitation, see MAR1STCMCMN (MV509).
