Sampling
A nationally representative school sample participated in four different treatments in which teachers received “Growth Mindset” and "Self-affirmation" exercise material to practice with students for around 60 minutes. Two of the treatments took place one month prior to the assessment. The other two were implemented one week before the assessment.

The "Nudging Student Effort to Accurately Measure Student Ability: Maximizing the Value of Assessment Data through Nimble Interventions - Dataset Description" document, which is available to download, includes the self-affirmation and growth mindset exercises that were administered to students. The complete National Diagnostic Assessment questionnaires have not been reported as they are not public due to confidentiality concerns related to sensitive personal information. Administrative data and call center survey. The dataset used to measure the impact of the intervention program is derived from three sources: MINERD 9th-grade diagnostic assessment 2019; a call center hired to confirm the reception and implementation of the program; and a database that compiled the information received via WhatsApp, supporting the reception and implementation of the program. The "Nudging Student Effort to Accurately Measure Student Ability: Maximizing the Value of Assessment Data through Nimble Interventions - Dataset Description" document, which is available to download, includes details on the two exercises that were administered as well as the letter to the school principal, the letter to the teachers who implemented the intervention, and the call protocols for the call center.
